Thomas Machining, Inc.

success story.jpeg

Thomas Machining, Inc. was originally started in December of 1983 by Judd Thomas's grandfather, Weldon Thomas. The company initially provided manufacturing support to hydraulics customers, and over time this has expanded to include other services such as hydraulic maintenance and repair.

Judd sought out help from the Navarro SBDC in November 2018, seeking support in expanding his services and buying TMI from his extended family members. His dream of business owning became a reality through the support provided through the SBDC. This is why Judd and his wife returned to the SBDC in June 2024 to discuss finances in order to complete the purchase of a building owned by extended family members. Guidance regarding loan options, as well as referrals to financial institutions were provided and led to the company securing an SBA loan to complete purchasing the building. This helped the company also retain nine jobs in this process.

Since then, the company has expanded to the singular building to now encompassing an entire block. Due to production demands, Thomas Machining, Inc. has had to extend their operating hours and sales have tripled from 2022 to 2025.

Thomas Machining, Inc. continues to be a cornerstone in the industry, maintianing strong customer, vendor, employee and community relationships, solidifying their positions in the machining and hydraulics industry.
