Mi Linda Michoacana was started in 2016 by Guillermo Leanos and Claudia Valles to spread the memory and new experiences of Latin Culture for those seeking a taste of Mexico. In 2017, a pivotal moment unfolded as Mi Linda Michoacana integrated a variety of new products along with their ice cream.  This not only increased interest throughout the community but also allowed business to flourish.

Fast forward to 2021, as the owners began discussing the next chapter in their growth story. Their aspirations turned in the form of plans for a new, expansive facility-a testament to their commitment to elevate sales and enhance the customer experience.

Recognizing the need for financial support, the duo sought the SBDC's help to get a professional business plan and financial projections in order to obtain the funding they needed. Long time SBDC employee Becky Castilleja, TTU-Lubbock Center Program Coordinator, went above and beyond by honing her business Spanish skills. The SBDC operated as a team to provide bilingual business consulting services to better convey the owner's business concept in writing.
